...oh, and if the "Poker Game" panel seems kinda strange, it's because---for no apparent reason---I decided to include a bonus game: How many different kinds of "CHIPS" can you identify? Don't list them here---send me a note! Anyone who can find them all will receive a FLOWER POT, a COOKIE, a HUG and one more random thingy of my choice....
...I do hope you get a smile or two out of this story!!! Once again I'm deeply indebted to my Daughter/Collaborator for doing all the technical computer stuff about which I am hopelessly clueless---THANK YOU, LITTLE ONE!!! ---Ric C
"*Ricky-Roo302 is a guy who writes and illustrates his own children's tales and fables (although, if you go through his gallery, you'll find that that's certainly not all he does!), all of them in his trademark rhyme, and with his whimsical sense of humour. THE BALLAD OF BRONCO BUCK is one such lively, galloping tale in rhyme about the Old West, gunslingers and an unlikely hero named Bronco Buck (a nineteen-year-old cowpoke who gets made sheriff). The ballad itself (which must be read aloud to be fully appreciated) is endearingly funny, and the pencil-rendered cartoon illustrations accompanying it flesh out the humour beautifully. (Plus the guy managed to sneak in a number of very hilarious easter eggs - such as Batman's Joker and a Village people cameo - into this massive work). As the artist himself said, "John Wayne, eat your heart out!" " (Suggested by =DarthFar and Featured by `Cedarseed)
Ah, I loved this. It was like reading a MAD magazine. Just totally unexpected things like a Mcdonalds and a balloon hat and Victoria's Secret magazine and just way too much to mention! I love seeing stuff like this. Your illustrations are really good.
i stumbled across this and so glad i did! it's hilarious! there are so many jokes in this it's crazy but so funny to read/sing in your head. I'll have to sing it to my boys sometime...they'd love it! thanks for sharing it with us!

....hope you didn't hurt yourself stumbling.... THANK YOU very much indeed for the Fave on both this and "AN AUTUMN'S TALE", as well as being kind enough to watch my page; I appreciate it endlessly.
...may I direct your attention to my other Daily Deviation?...[link] ...and this bit of nonsense as well....[link]
...again, I am very grateful for your kindness.---Ric C.
you are very welcome. I only fav the things that are good...and your stuff is good. I did the little Ballad for my kids last night and they thought it was great...of course mommy's voice going in and out from her cold gave it great special effects. LOL so your Ballad has been sung for a 2 yr old and a 5 yr old and they enjoy it a lot.
I'll check out the other two as well as soon as i'm feeling better.

I was reluctant to read this at first, but I'm glad I did. I was actually reading this in my head, with the voice of an old man with a western accent and I was practically singing the whole thing.
Needless to say, it was a fun read.

Thank you 302 times for that fave!!! I tried to get across that it was a song to be spoken aloud (Reeee---cited! ), like "A BOY NAMED SUE" or whatever, and that is why I used words like "overheered" and "purty" and "cain't", and you picked right up on it!! I hope to publish it as a childrens' book and completely ruin childrens' English all over the world! Thank you so much for reading all that....
